With its impressive performance and long battery life, the OnePlus 12 has already won us over. However, if its $800 starting price is too much for you, you may want to look at the $500 (£649, or around AU$1,250) OnePlus 12R. This less expensive option has a respectable battery life and strong performance, combined with some of the visual cues of its more expensive brother. To get to its more reasonable starting price, it had to make a few significant compromises.
Instead of the OnePlus 12’s brand-new 8 Gen 3 CPU, the 12R has a little older Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, but it still has a ton of power.
